the relative performance of cricketers has always been an interesting pastime
for Cricket lovers. Various rating schemes that are available in the market
from Ceat ratings to Kumble ratings attempt to do this. With each addition
to the rating list there has been improvements. As a avid follower of cricket
I feel the search for the ideal rating scheme is still not over.
I am presenting here a model scheme which I think has included some innovations. I would like to follow this rating to arrive at the "Man of WorldCup-99". With my limited resources I may follow only the India matches and arrive at the best Indian player. If any of the friends out there would like to assist me we can apply the system to all the World cup participants. If any of you would like to volunteer to follow the matches, build the score card including run outs ( Who did it and with whose assistance)and compute the ratings of the participants in that particular match, it would be a great help. I would be happy if you can pick up a country and try to follow all the players of that country. If you are interested please send me an email today.
