October 17 is Digital Society Day
.October 17, 2000 was an important day in the history of India.
It was the day when legal recognition was made available to Electronic Documents.
It was the day when legal recognition was made available to "Signing" of electronic documents.
It was the day when a legally recognizable Digital Society was Born.
...Thanks to the notification of Information technology Act 2000.
In commemoration of this important development, Cyber Law College and Digital Society Foundation organized a function on October 17, 2006 at Century Club, K R Circle, Cubbon Park, Bangalore 560050 during which Honourable Justice N Kumar declared "October 17" as "Digital Society Day". Sri R.Srikumar, Chairman and Managing Director, Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation, Mr Sanjay Vir Singh, DIG, Cyber Crime PS, Bangalore, Mr Subimal Bhattacharjee, Cyber Security Consultant, Mr Sateesh Kannegalal, IBM and other dignitaries graced the occassion.
